One of the most prominent golf courses in the UK, Royal St George’s Golf Club, is located near the shore. If you’re not a golfer, there are lovely walking trails along the coast, such as the Saxon Shore Way, which provides an opportunity to explore the surrounding area and enjoy picturesque views.

Sandwich, a nearby town with charming alleys, ancient town walls, and historic buildings, is one of England’s best-preserved mediaeval towns. You may visit this quaint village while at the beach, giving your beach day a cultural and historical twist.

Swimmers should exercise caution in strong currents due to the shore’s extreme exposure. Because of the windy weather, it’s also a wonderful place for watersports like windsurfing and kiteboarding. Lifeguard services may not be operational at this beach.

Private Beach

Due to Sandwich Bay’s private estate status, driving entry to the beach requires an entry fee (around £9). If you stroll from Sandwich or Deal, which are close by, pedestrian admission is free.

Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve

The dunes and marshes that encircle Sandwich Bay, which is a part of the Thanet Coast Marine Protected Area, are a paradise for nature lovers and birdwatchers. There are many different bird species, seals, and uncommon plant species in the neighbouring Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve.
